Most visited national parks in Zambia
Kafue National Park — world-famous for its animals. It is the oldest and largest of Zambia’s national parks. It was established, as a National Park, in the 1950’s and is 22,400 km2, making it one of the world’s largest national parks. Nalusanga Gate is 200km from Lusaka along the eastern park boundary. Dundumwezi Gate is 198km from Livingstone, through Kalomo, on the southern boundary.
Kasanka National Park — south of the Bangweulu Swamps. @
Famous for largest mammal migration in the world; 10 million fruit bats
Lochinvar National Park — south of the Kafue Flats. @
Famous for lechwe and over 420 bird species; renown bird sanctuary
Lower Zambezi National Park — east of Lusaka. @
Famous for spectacular wildlife viewing on the Zambezi River
Liuwa Plain National Park — north-west of Mongu. @
Isolated and pristine uncommercialised, wildlife rich wilderness
Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park (Victoria Falls National Park) — the smallest national park next and to the Victoria Falls. @
